Frequently Asked Questions

What is APRA's view on orbs?

While we believe that probably 99.9% of orbs that show up in photographs are probably explainable by dust, moisture, or insects, we can never be absolutely certain that the remaining 0.1% isn't paranormal. No one really knows what a spirit looks like, so we can't completely rule out spirit activity. Photographs of orbs are not good evidence.

I took a picture that I think has a spirit. Will you review it?

We would be happy to give you our opinion on your photo with the understanding that our opinion is based on very limited information (e.g., we weren't present, we don't know who was involved, we don't know the lighting situation). If you have a photo, please feel free to post it to the message board for review.

Why don't you do cleansings?

We prefer to focus our energy on helping people understand what is going on in their home or business and documenting paranormal phenomena. If you feel you need a cleansing, we will gladly refer you to organizations we trust who perform such services.

How often is your website updated?

The simplest answer is, we update the website as often as necessary. That might be daily or weekly if we have something unusual going on, but we will try to never go longer than a month without updating the website.

How much do the members of APRA get paid?

Nothing. We do this because we love it. We are all volunteers, and we have full time careers outside of APRA. Some of us have interesting Christmas lists, though. :)

What kind of proof do you have of a haunting?

None. There is no proof, only evidence. We collect pieces of evidence.

I think I was attacked by an evil spirit while I was in bed; I couldn't move or scream, and I felt a presence intent on harming me. What should I do?

Experiences such as this are not as rare as you would think. Please look into the possibility of sleep paralysis before taking extreme measures. Although these experiences can be terrifying, most of the time, they are not paranormal in nature.

What are APRA's religious beliefs?

Each member of APRA has his/her own beliefs, and we strive to respect each other's differing opinions.
