We have a Membership System, listed below, with different categories of membership within the organization. When applying for membership in APRA, please note which Member Type you're interested in on the Application.
Also listed below are they Membership Requirements, these are what is expected of potential new members. You should read these thoroughly and be able to complete all of these within the 6 month time frame in order to become an official member of APRA.

Charter members – Worked in the beginning with the start of APRA as a group, are also Full members, comprise most or all of the Board of Directors.
Full members – Members who dedicate themselves to working with APRA at least 8-12 times a year in meetings and investigations.
Associate members – Members who are part time within APRA, who can attend 3-6 meetings a year and a maximum of 3 investigations per year. They still must keep up with current news and events within the organization.
Honorary members – Members who are nominated and elected as such, by the Charter Members and/ or the Board of Directors. They have no requirements but may join APRA as is convenient for both parties, they may help with periodic public events.

1. Fill out APRA membership packet; turn it in when finished to the group leader, also stating what membership status you wish to have.
2. Download the Training Booklet to ensure basic understanding of processes.
3. Attend at least one informal Training Session (can be in conjunction with a meeting).
4. Attend activities as much as possible; but at least 3 activities (meetings &/ or investigations) in a 6 month period of time before you will be voted upon.
5. Have at least one piece of equipment of your own.
6. Before membership is granted, a vote by the charter members must take place to vote a person in or out, ie: compatible with the team and an asset to APRA.
7. Yearly dues are due in January for the charter members; full and associate members pay dues in the month of their acceptance into APRA, and their anniversary date thereafter. Dues are $50.00 a year for full members, married couples get a discounted rate of $70.00, and associate members $25.00.
8. Full members must attend at least 6 meetings per year and as many investigations as they possibly can. Associate members must attend 3 or more meetings per year, and will be limited to only 3 investigations per year.
9. Meetings may be teleconferenced. Be sure to communicate with a charter member if you cannot make it to a meeting and later obtain all materials covered in said meeting.
10. All members must keep in touch and keep up with APRA news and events by email, the message board, or direct contact with charter members.
11. Honorary members are those inducted as such by the Charter Members/ Board of Directors. Honorary members do not pay yearly dues or have to attend any meetings, but may attend investigations on occasion while accompanied by full time APRA members. They may work with APRA on events.
*All dues are non-refundable. APRA charter members reserve the right to move a member to inactive status upon vote, if circumstances present themselves and it is in the best interest of APRA. APRA also reserves the right to adjust these requirements for new members with previous experience.
